Built in 1850 by by Joseph Pepper, it came into the Long family in 1935. Currently owned by Bob Long and Amy Ebel - 4th generation owners. Bob's Dad, Bill Long, can still be found in the mill almost every day.
Four brands of soft-wheat flour are made in the mill: A No. 1 All-Purpose Flour, Virginia's Best Self-Rising Flour, A No. 1 Seasoned Flour, and A No. 1 Barbecue-flavored Seasoned Flour, as well as Virginia's Best Biscuit Mix. We also mill plain and self-rising corn meal.
Human food comprises part of our business. In addition, our business consists of the milling of animal feed. We will even custom mix animal feed per your exact specifications, made to order.
